We are a thither here. The project estimate came in $12,000 over what we have to spend. So, back to the drawing table. We need to see about cutting some corners. We don’t really need fresh water do we? And insulation is just a waste of money right? And electricity is over rated isn’t it?
Interesting costs:

  1. $400 for a porta potty (They workers can just go before they leave home!)
  2. $560 dollars to put pest control around the footers (This is the woods; there are going to be bugs!)
  3. $600 dump fee ( Isn’t that the same as #1?)

And it goes on….

Anyway, we can get cheaper ( I mean less expensive) cabinets on our own; so there is the first savings.

Anyone have any ideas?

  1. You could do some of the other work yourselves also (painting, some flooring, tiling, etc). That would cut costs pretty well I would imagine. :-)
