Saturday Morning

Our meeting with out contractor has been pushed back to 2PM, so I thought I would post the floor plans this morning. We are also going to look at flooring again today.

To confuse you even more, let me tell you that these floor plans will be flipped. The kitchen/dining/bedroom areas will be in the back, the living room/bathroom will be in the front. We have redesigned the kitchen because it really had no cabinet space the way it was. We also took out that kitchen area door and put in a patio door (like a French door, but only one side opens) and moved it one foot from the back wall. We took out the counter area where the dish washer is suppose to be and moved the dishwasher to the wall next to the sink. We then are going to have a five foot cabinet, with an overhang for stools that will be across from part of the stove and frig. The bathroom will take a little more of the bedroom area so that we can have room for the washer dryer. One of our “after we move in” projects will be to frame in the washer dryer.

We are probably making the bathroom bigger, but we have not decided. That does not have to be decided until the house shell is delivered. What we have decided is that we will not have a ceiling on the bathroom, but will have a ledge made on the top of the wall panels. We will put all kinds of plants on it. That closet might be made bigger so that we can have storage, but it is already pretty big. The living room is open to the second floor, and the loft area is open down to the lower area. The loft will be our office, and we are thinking of putting a futon there for extra sleeping area.
