We gave our down payment to the contractor. We faxed our floor plan to the house builder, and he is suppose to fax us a contract and approved floor plan today. Then we have the grading and septic done….and wait …..and wait….for the permits.
We have decided to go with as many propane items as possible. We will have the fireplace, the grill, the stove, the water heater, and possibly the heat pump. The contractor is looking into whether it is cheaper when you keep the house at a low temp in the winter. Those of you who have visited us in the winter know we keep it cold. Two women in the same house with periodic hot flashes can cause a thermostat to be set on airconditioning in the dead of winter.
We are hiring a couple of people to go out and clean up the property. Seems the last tenant had a little single-wide trailer on the property for a few years and used became the local meth lab. I understand they took truckloads of junk, including the single-wide out of there before they put the land up for sale. There is still some odd things among the trees and we need to get it all out.
I am taking a tile class at Lowe’s this Saturday. Anyone want to join me? I have decided that my construction part of this creation will be the bathroom floors. We chose some tile at Lowe’s last night, but I think we will revisit, because it seems the tile we liked will cost a small fortune to put in those bathrooms. We have plenty of time.
We also chose the stain for the white pine and the cabinets. I am going to do the stain, if I can find a ladder that will to up the side of the house. It is rather high.
More pictures tonight. We are still open to decorating ideas.
Congrats!!!! I am sure anticipation is eating ya’ll up! LOL You both have good taste in decor so I am sure there is nothing comment worthy that I could contribute but if I see something interesting I will send it along.
Can’t wait for more pics.
