We met the grader/septic putter inner at the property today. On the way, Ann’s truck battery light came on. Once at the property the truck died. The septic guy jumped it and we were off down the road..a mile anyway. We died in the right lane of a two lane road going up a hill. We stopped one man who called a tow truck for us. In the hour it took for the guy to arrive, no less than twelve cars went by. Did anyone stop to offer assistance? Only one guy who looked like the lead guitarist from ZZ Top. We thanked him. To the others we yelled, “We’re okay, thanks for asking!”
By the way, it was beautiful where we were stuck. Our property has gotten amazingly beautiful too, with the leaves finally growing off the ice burned stems. I had my camera and tried to take a few while we waited. I could not get the darn thing, new as it is, to work. Well stupid me..I did not have a memory card in it.
Ann’s truck needed an alternator. The tow guy took us home, and the mechanic just called. It is finished. We dropped it off an hour or so ago. Not only is it finished, they are bringing it over. Davis Automotive…Leicester Highway, Asheville. Remember them. They are a U Haul center too.
OHHHHHHHHHHH We found out that there is indeed cable at our land. The septic guy showed us the cable from the pole!!! What a relief, we will have internet!!

The same thing has happened to us. We always try to stop and see if we can help. I may not be able to help but I can offer to call someone who can.
Glad to hear about the cable and internet. Now, you will avoid those dreaded withdrawal symptoms! LOL

We do the same. We at least stop to see if they want us to call someone. But it all ended well.

I had a bad car day last week myself. I was at a job site and was fixing to leave. I got in the car..put the key in to start my car…turned it and BAM the key broke!! called the emergency roadside people..only to find out I had to pay for it and then mail them the bill for a refund..they told me they ahd someone to fix it but they wanted something like 350.00..so after I had a heart attack…I found someone myself…lol. that man was very nice and cheaper. was it very expensive kathie? just curious as to what an alternator for a newer like anns would cost. glad it is ok fa’ll now

Actually Justin, we go off pretty easily. I think the bill was $275, including towing.
