We were so excited. We went out to the land a few days ago and saw a load of blocks.
We knew we were finally going to see the beginning of the house. That was three days ago.
Finally, today we made our daily drive and there he was…the block guy…laying block. They could not locate the water line, so he had to bring in a barrel of water for his cement, but he was working.
We asked him if he needed anything, and he told us he had been unable to get ice for his cooler this morning. So, we jumped back into the car and headed out to the little store a few miles away. We brought it back to him, and he continued to lay the block. We left for some lunch and to go to Lowe’s for a rubber mallet. Seems we needed the mallet to pound our newly decorated mailbox into the ground.
When we returned at 2, guess what?
He was gone, and so was his cooler.
We also found out the house shell cannot be brought in for three weeks. This puts us about six weeks behind. The hope was that we would move before school began, but that is not going to happen. We will now hope to be in before October. Boo!
Just a side note: Puppy got a hold of a small plastic bottle of pink paint. Strangely enough he did not get any paint on anything but himself. His collar has paint on it, his right leg has paint on it, and his whiskers have paint on them. The whiskers are the funny part.
this is a closeup of the pink whiskers.

I wonder how long he waited after you left before he skipped. LOL. Is it normal for masons to only do half a day each at 2 different job sites. That could be the explanation.
Love the pink whiskers. Reminds me (kind of) those people who dye their cats with weird colors.
