Tomorrow is the day. We can only hope the foundation is what it is suppose to be for the house frame that is coming. Hopefully I will have lots of photos of the frame going up tomorrow.
This morning Ann and I went out to the site at 6:30, in hopes of working before the 95 degree weather hit us. First we cleaned up the site. We had to move and stack cinder block, and we had to pick of a lot of junk that was left. There were even three 75 pound bags of cement we had to move, but he left two wheel barrow, so we were able to move them. We picked up all the empty soda cans and other such trash, two big garbage bags full. We had to put plastic on the ground that will be the crawlspace to keep moisture from coming into the house. Of course, the contractor should have done it, but the police have not yet found him. Then we had to cover the entire graded area in straw. This was a requirement of the house man. We finished about eleven, and I have never been dirtier or hotter. I came home and took a cool shower and fell asleep in the chair.
We are in the process of getting a plumber, electrician, heat man, and roofer. We have the framer and drywall guys. Phew!
This is a picture of the foundation with the plastic on the ground. It looks like snow in the front, but that is straw.
This is a long view of the house area, looking as if we had a blizzard in the 90 degree weahter.
And finally, a view with my back to the foundation, looking up the driveway.
