The process

We have been really busy. Seems our fugitive contractor skipped an inspection. So, we had to arrange things that he should have done, and the things we already paid for and have to pay again, and get them done to pass a foundation inspection with a house already on the foundation. We had to get termite protection, waterproof the block, and have a foundation drain put in. Hopefully, we will have the inspection on Tuesday and will be able to go on from there.

We have a roofer and someone to do the framing. We have an electrician coming out Monday for an estimate and one on Tuesday. We have a someone calling with a plumber and a heating/cooling person Monday. When all that is done we worry about a drywaller Oh, somewhere in there we worry about insulation. This is happy worry!

We will probably move in before the upstairs is finished. We will have the downstairs finished and get the CO, and then we will have the upstairs finished. This is probably the only way to finish by the end of September. In fact, we will probably not have the driveway even done before we move in.

The contractor was having a mechanical room done in the crawl space so we would have room for the hot water tank etc. He never finished that either, so we have to do that before we can get our CO. I understand there is a warrant out for the contractor’s arrest. He has many charges against him from that man that lost a lot more money than we did.
