It is a nice sunny, fall like Sunday. I could not find the dry vac, so I just drove out to see if any work was done after noon yesterday.  To my surprise and delight, I found the overhang finished, well finished except for the few rows of shingles.

This is a big deal because it puts us closer to the framing inspection that should have been done three weeks ago. It also will stop the rain from pouring into the house anymore.  Now they need to do the stud wall stuff and we are on our way.  Oh, they have to put down the extra layer of floor, but that is a quick thing.

While I was there I was visited by a butterfly. There are always butterflies there, and I don’t know what they are so interested in. Today I know this one was interested in the moisture in the ground. I hope they are there every summer.

Isn’t it pretty?

Now a moment’s mention of our puppy, Brando. (Puppy!  Heck the dog is not yet six months old and weighs forty-five pounds!) He has left the cute stage and has not found a way into the “handsome dog” stage. He is stubborn and loud, but most often loving. He will not, however, be entered into any smart dog competitions. He can fetch, but if a cat comes into the picture on his way back from fetching, he is gone.  Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, as they say.
