It is true. I drove out there today, and though they must have been on their lunch break and where no where in sight, they had obviously made progress.
I first have to tell you that we had three inches of rain yesterday, and that rain has turned the area around the house into a squishy, mushy, suck off your shoe mess. Most of the area has straw on it, but the recently dozed area does not. What a mess! There is almost as much mud in the house as out. I am hoping it will dry enough by tomorrow that I can bring in the dry vac and suck most of it up.
They put in the back door, finally.
They are in the process of putting on the roof overhangs.
We hope they finish and head in to do the stud work soon. We need to get the framing inspection by Wednesday or Thursday. I think these overhangs are part of the inspection, so we are glad they are working on them. Also, when they finish, the rain will not pour in.
Be prepared. I have a mud photo for you. If I did not tell you it was red clay mud, you actually might think a number of brutal murders took place there in in the last twenty-four hours.
I guess because we have had such a dry summer, the trees are already turning. It will be an early color season if this continues. Here is our driveway where the yellow is showing up already.
This one is on the bank on the side of the hill. Pretty, except for the huge insect web in it. I cropped that out.
More tomorrow, hopefully. I am going out to clean up mud and uncover tree root bases. They should have finished the overhang, and maybe went in to fix the inside framing. Naw, that would be too much to ask.
