Sorry, no photos this week. Much has gone on, however.  We had the counter made for the kitchen. He put down the plywood and cement board; we are going to do the tile ourselves. We have placed most of the tile, but we are waiting for the pieces we had to have cut to be ready before we actually glue it down.  Just having the counter on, cement board showing and all, makes it look like a real kitchen. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are all really one room, the counter really makes a difference.

Ann went out to Possum Manor West (the family home she inherited) and picked up our Christmas decorations. I am thrilled beyond belief. If I could, I would decorate months before Christmas and leave them up for months after. Actually, I have seen many people leave their decorations up all year, but they look silly in July.

Speaking of Ann…She is working at the casino and loving it. They really have an incredible benefit package there.  Even though she has been there less than six months, she was voted officer of the month by her peers. She reaaaaallllly loves the job. I see her getting into a department there that deals with employee relations or human resources, but this has been a great entry for her. She has made some good friends.  That casino really treats its employees well.

We are having problems with our puppy Brando who is very aggressive. Sometimes I cannot tell if he is playing, but even then it makes me nervous. He is horrible about food too.  He is not aggressive toward Ann or I, just the other dogs. He even  tries to drag RD around by the collar.  He is still chewing, which is a major problem too.  We have started leaving sticks on the floor when we leave for work, in hopes he would chew them rather than the house. It is better to vacuum up sticks than shoes. When we get the back deck, probably the end of January, we will have a dog door; I am hoping that door will help him get another hobby other than chewing shoes, plastic, paper, or dirty clothes. He weighs about 55 pounds, and is very stubborn.  He has his sweet moment, but sometimes they seem not to out weigh his bad times.  I hope to look back on this blog in a year and be amazed at how wonderful he is. They guy who did out counters wanted to take him home. Ann was tempted. I would  have felt terrible, wondering if he was ok forever.

Today is going to be dedicated to decorating the house. We may have unpacked boxes around, but they will at least be decorated.   Photos today.

  1. Have you thought about taking Brando to Obedience classes. They have them at PetSmart (The one on Airport road in the Target shopping center). We looked into it when we had the yippee dog. They are $100 for a 6 week class (once a week). It might be worth checking into if it solves the problem and he(and ya’ll) will benefit greatly!
    Just a thought. :-)

  2. YEAH…..lookin’ forward to the pic’s!! hey, had a dream about you the other night that I FINALLY got to see ya after all these years and you were TALL…..about 5′8”, thought you’d appreciate that since you always wanted to be taller. LOL ;-)

  3. Becky, he is obedient, just aggressive. However, today a friend brought her big labradoodle over and they got along just fine. Ann says it was because the dog was female.

Dianna, you are the second person who told me in the last two days that they had a dream I was in. In Fran’s dream I was in white lace. She did not say I was tall and thin!!!!

  4. When I talked to one of the ladies that runs a class at PS she did mention something about the training would work with aggression tendencies also because I specifically asked about this (the yippee dog would snap/bark/growl at some people he didn’t know). I misspoke when I called them obedience classes…they don’t even call them that and they have all different kinds.

  5. hey….where are the pics?!? :P
