A Quick Update

Well, the snow and ice are gone, except in our driveway. I think we are the only people the county that still have snow. I hope that means we are in a cool place for summer too.  Our pipes froze twice, but we now have the heat cord on them so hopefully it will not happen again. We are keeping water on hand just in case.

The news is that our deck is scheduled to begin next Saturday. Then the porch will be done. We are looking forward to this for many reason, the least not being that it should help the mud situation in the house. There is no area for dogs or humans to get rid of the red, clay mud before entering the house. This means the carpet and everything that comes in contact with us has a nice film of red on it. The carpet is a mess, but we are not going to worry about it until the construction is finished and then we will get them cleaned.  In the mean time I am going to get more straw this weekend and put it down again. Believe me, the straw helps, but it disappears.

Ann is back to work today. She is much better, but she is exhausted.  I am sure she will be beat today when she comes home.

We have someone coming today to give us an estimate on the upstairs bathroom and the connection of the propane heat stove. Living where we do, we really need an alternate source of heat.  We have been lucky not to lose power so far this winter, but it is better to be safe.

Once the construction begins again, I will have plenty of things to photograph.

Oh, we are getting a trainer of some kind  for Brando. He is somewhat aggressive toward the other dogs. Always has to be first. There is lots of growling going on here, but so far no blood. We are thinking a dog trainer might be able to help.
