We got an inch! I know my Michigan friends and relatives are saying, “Heck, an inch is nothing.”; but here an inch on a mountain roads shuts the town down. We were not suppose to have school today anyway, but it would have been closed if it was suppose to be open. It was an Optional Teacher Work Day, and I opted not to test the horrible roads. We have kids tomorrow, but I think we will have a delayed opening. ( Note, five minutes after I posted this, I was notified we are closed tomorrow also. It is an Optional Teacher day, and I will go in for a little while.) Ann and I just got back from doing some errands, and some of the roads are still bad.
Here are a couple of photos of our little house in the woods. I cannot even imagine how cute it will be when it has a deck and porch.
The finches have finally found the thistle sack I hung. It took them weeks.
We walked down the road to get Ann’s truck this afternoon. This is part of the road down. Neither of us realized until today just how steep it was.
Ann wore her new boot studs for gripping the ice. Good product
This is a bird’s nest in the top of one of the trees. It is huge, and I do not have a clue as to what kind of bird will nest in it. Vulture? Eagle?

Vulture’s are known in this area to build many nest. I would bet that it is a Vulture nest.
