Early Wednesday Morning….

*Yawn* I love early morning, but my body does not. I get up earlier than I need to, but I enjoy a bit of computer and quiet before I head out to a concrete building of hostility. Wow, how dramatic was that. I don’t remember being miserable in high school, but so many are. I do my part to keep them that way too…lol.

Middle of the week. Let’s see what is going on…. I bought a new car. I traded my Element for a Saturn Vue. It gets a bit better mileage, and with the gas situation the larger cars are going to have lower trade in as the months pass. The Element got pretty good mileage, above 25, but the concept is that it is a large vehicle. So, timing and incentives were just right, and I traded. I will take a picture this afternoon. I know that I am somewhat color blind. I think I see colors but they are obviously not what others see. This car color is called sea foam green, but I see no green at all. To me it is the color of old turquoise stones. Not the bright color but the bit darker. I guess it does not matter, but I must have stopped ten people at the dealership asking if they saw green, and all said yes but more blue. This is why I wear black most of the time. It goes with everything. I don’t wear all black, but I bet I have six or seven pair of black pants. The only skirt I own is black.

Ann planted flowers yesterday. Not a small venture, let me tell you. She did not even get half of them in the ground. I spoke to her yesterday afternoon and she said, “What the hell were you thinking when you bought this many flowers?” I had really thought we did not have enough. I ordered two more rail planters the other day. I had to put all four on the front porch, so we need two for the back. That is another thing. The hot tub is one the back deck, empty. They fixed the leak, but we have just not had the time to clean it before it gets filled. I have plans to do it everyday after work, but as nice as the days have been, by the time we have dinner, it is just too cool to get in there and get wet while cleaning. It will happen.

The front porch should be finished Saturday, if it does not rain. Then we can put in the front shrubs, which are tiny things right now. We have a few more to buy, and then the planting will be done. (The side lawn does not want to come up for some reason.) Then we have only a few projects to accomplish before we are done with the big things. The big things are:
1. Have the carpet and furniture cleaned
2. Stone on the walkway and fire pit area
3. Frame the front door
4. Paint the bathroom, guest room, and laundry room
5. Actually glue down the tile on the counters in both bathrooms and the kitchen.

That’s it….those are the projects that need to be done. After that there are minor things, but at that point we will be ready for serious company. This summer we are having a length of privacy fence put up so that we cannot see our neighbor, and we need to have our propane stove connected before winter hits again.
