Sing along….”The house began to twitch…..” Phew! Our power went out at about eight last night, just before the final episode of “Survivor.” I finally gave in and went to bed just after nine; what else was there to do? About midnight…BOOM..the lights came one, scaring the dogs and sending them through the dog door, barking into the night for an hour. Got them all settled down finally, and the power company called to see if our power was back. No kidding, they woke us to ask if we could see.

Ann leaves for work at 4:30AM. The phone rang at 4:35AM, and it was Ann. She told me she was coming back home, as there is a tree in the road. So, I got dressed and we headed out to move it. It was a huge, leafy limb, and we figure out the car would fit under the arch of it, so we drove through it. We then drove back through it, and when we passed a car heading that way, we stopped it and told them they could drive under it.

So Ann dropped me off at the house and headed back to work. It was now about 4:50. She called five minutes later to say she was coming back. Seems that man we passed decided to try to move it, and he did more damage. You could no longer drive under the arch.

About 6:30 Ann headed out again, with me following close after her. The good ole boys had gotten their chain saws out and had moved that huge, leafy branch, and they had cut up a huge tree that had fallen just further down the road.

This is what it looked like when I passed by at almost 7:00:

I know it looks small, but you are only seeing part of it. It was totally across the road.

Doesn’t my side mirror look like ET?

This is a photo of the tree that the guys cut up. I guess they knew the county might not get to it for days.

Just a side note: I use to love to watch “American Gladiator,” but now it is really a silly show. It is on right now, so I thought I would comment.
