I have had a certain lurker for the last six weeks. This person does not show up every day, nor ever shows up on weekends. When I look at my vistor list (I can tell what server each visitor uses, where they are, and what if any link they used to get here), it always says Durham, NC. Asheville is about four hours from Durham, and I don’t know anyone there anyway.
It is ME! I figured it out today. When I go to this site from my work computer, it says Durham. Why I do not know. I called home from my classroom the other day and the caller ID said NC Highway Patrol….Ann saved it.
Strange place, my school.
They say we might be getting gas tomorrow or Saturday. I am going to be staying home and painting this weekend, afraid to drive to Possum Manor West and then either not get back or not have gas to go to work next week.

I drink tea with milk too…well, some teas. Not herbal teas. Is drinking milk with tea odd? (I must add..hot tea….drinking milk with Iced tea sounds…..nasty. LOL)
Did you find out why exactly your school is listed as NC Highway Patrol? That sounds a bit strange to me.

My school must be part of the Twilight Zone or Bermuda Triangle. The internet says Durham and the phone system says NC Highway Patrol. I mentioned it to administration, but they were busy.
The tea thing is just something I said once. I had never put milk in my tea before, so I figured I had invented it.
I like milk in iced coffee, but I honestly had never considered it in iced tea.

the internet says durham because IPs have “hubs”. Generally they assign a hub to residential users based on geography, but business and government users get assigned in some bizarre way that makes sense to the providers. If i log on from home my IP says miami…however, if i log on from work i get a central florida hub…(work is two miles from my house, and south-so geographically it’s closer to miami than i am at home)…anyway…it makes sense that a school (funded by the government) would be routed through a raleigh-durham hub…if, in fact there really is any sense to any of this…
(just another of my obscure little factiods)

pam, I love that you pop up now and then with the info I need. You come up as Boca Raton. Is that near you?

boca is about 15 miles south…and a world apart…
you know palm beach is the richest per capita stretch of real estate anywhere…
west palm beach grew up as housing for the servants
and boca…well…
boca is where the folks from great neck who can’t afford the island go to retire in the company of more than affluent young urban professionals and so on…
in fact the locals used to call boca “beacoup rotten”,,,referring, i’m told, to the attitude of the residents…
it’s the home of the Morokami Museum, which has a couple miles of trails through the most amazing Japanese gardens you’ll ever see…and butterfly world…and the national orchid society…
while in west palm i have the national croquet center…
