Even chickens are thankful……

These are spoiled chickens, and they know it. I put new straw in their house this morning, and I will bet it is gone by tomorrow morning. They just toss it on the ground. When the chicken house door is opened in the morning, they usually run out as if they had been prisoners. If they are high up when the door is opened, they fly out. So this morning I put a sting on the door, Carrie pulled the door open, and I filmed.

They love bananas. They usually get a treat each day, and while I was out there for Thanksgiving, it was bananas.

Xena hides things. Sometimes I will go to bed and there will be dog biscuit under my pillow. She took some dinner rolls, and I watched her as he trotted all around trying to find the best place to hide them. She gives it away, however, because if you even go near where she hid something, she goes to it and stares at it. She hid the rolls behind the dog bed. A bit obvious don’t you think?

This is my favorite Silkie chicken, Meryl. I just think she is soooo funny.

She use to be bigger than these two Barr Rock, both named Gidget. These are the two hand raised babies.

And this is the most beautiful chicken we have. She is an Araucana, and should lay blue eggs.
