I have acquired a new skill…well, maybe not skill, but I can do it. Carrie has an old beading loom, and she has taught me how to use it. It took a long time to get the knack of it, but I understand it now. This is my first endeavor, and I have made some mistakes on it, but I think the next time I will do better. I miss a bead here and there, and my tension is not perfect, but I get it…and that is important. I have very little creative stuff in me, but I have made a few beautiful baskets, and I now can bead.
This is intended to be a book mark.

I had one of those cheap ‘o bead loops once that you get at the craft stores. I followed the directions and made….something. It was interesting and now I can see why beading items are so expensive. It’s very time consuming and can become very intricate.
Have you tried to crochet? (again?) I want to learn to do Continental knitting or Portuguese Knitting but not sure I have the patience to learn. LOL
I really don’t want to crochet or knit because you have to keep a count. With this beading, you have to only count a row. I think I could do a loom knitting; is there such a thing?
Well, you may have to count with knit (with needles)…IDK ’cause I don’t knit but with crochet unless I am doing a repeating pattern, I don’t have to count. And most of the repeating patterns is just a count to 4 or 5 most of the times.
Yes, you could loom knit. I have a set of knitting looms and they are super duper easy to learn. Go to WalMart and get a “Knifty Knitter” by ProvoCraft. It is a kit of 4 sizes of looms, a yarn pick and really decent instructions. The looms are circles with pegs. They make excellent hats….I have a bunch of them. It is the only knitting I can do. Plus there are lots of websites that can teach you how to expand on the basic knit stitch (on the loom).
