That is as far as I got yesterday. I am parked actually more than halfway up in a clearing. I love my Saturn Vue, but it is really bad on our road, so I have to look for something else. I could probably trade right into a year old something. This car does not have even 15,000 miles on it. Ann always said it was a mistake to get rid of the Honda Element, and I think she was right. I was not thrilled with that car because I thought it looked like a family van; I also hated the color, but I now am looking at used ones. I need something that can get up this road.
Any suggestions?
Well, our CR-V is only a two wheel drive ( personally i don’t need 4 wheel drive unless i get into deep sand or decide to drive through a swamp-neither of which i am likely to do in the next few days)-but they come in 4 wheel drive…and it’s a great car. Looks a lot like the RAV-4, you know? I think if i HAD to drive in snow i’d be looking at that, OR a Suburu Forrester, or a Hyundai Santa Fe. Ford has what looks to be a good little SUV as well, but they pissed me off when they started using parts so proprietary that you had to buy a special set of tools just to do a home tune up, so i won’t buy one. (Yeah, OK, i DO have a LIncoln, but an aging relative practically gave it to me and it looks like a Mafia car so i’m going to keep it.)
I have had two CR-V’s and loved them. They have gotten a bit pricey in the four wheel drive category. I looked at a few Subaru Forresters today on line, and I liked them a lot. They have better gas mileage than the Vue or the Element. I think Monday after work, Ann and I will go look at a few of them. I will take a look at the Santa Fe too. Thanks.
Tell me that Lincoln is black and shiny.
It’s not black, but i actually keep it pretty shiny. It’s got this really cool thing…i mean the damn car talks to me, auto adjusts my seat when i get in, and it has the coolest gadget i’ve ever seen in a car. In the trunk (which opens when you push a button from the outside) there is an emergency pull release- apparently for if you forget to let the hostages or illegal aliens out.
