A Weekend on Film
The snow is gone, for the most part. It seemed like a good weekend for the dogs and I to head out to Possum Manor West to meet Max, admire the chickens, and just relax. hahahahahahaha
We arrive:
All is well; everyone is happy to be there. It is a great family reunion.
Personally, I think we need a few more dogs. Notice the holes? Stella Blue digs day in and day out and has personally cut the mole population in the county down to half. She brings them in as souvenirs too. We all have very unique dogs. Brando the Terrible can now be renamed Brando the Chicken. He was immediately bullied by Max and spent most of last night hiding in the kitchen. During the night they had fights 1,395-3,960. We were awake a lot of the night. No blood was drawn, but they sure did make a lot of noise. Brando was also the one on the bottom when the spitting was over. I don’t think Max let him eat the whole time we were there. I felt badly for Brando, but this is exactly what he did to Usti in June.
I took Xena for a ride when I went into Bryson City for straw. We shared a bagel on the way back, and she felt better. Carrie and I spread the straw on the backyard. The mud is awful. The snow melted, but never did absorb. Notice the mud on the back door in the video? I bet we mopped the family room twenty time in as many hours.
I just love my chickens, as most of you know. We are getting five or six eggs a day, and this is winter. They are happy, that is for sure. I brought them spinach, tomatoes and apples this weekend. Carrie gives them treats all week; I bring the treats on the weekend. They are very tame, and will come very close when you are in the pen. Next weekend we will build a few Silkie boxes, for the new black Silkies we are getting. I am excited. I just love the Silkies.
love the videos….keep ‘em coming….LOL
