Who says I don’t cook?

It is rather unnerving to think a photo can be taken in the driveway, cropped and be brought right into your kitchen. I cooked. No one died or even went to the hospital.

Disclaimer: No one was in any way harmed in the eating of this meal.

Note the Christmas stuff on the porch and the lights still on the roof edge. It is just too darn cold to go out there and make things neat. So what if the Christmas tree is laying on its side with light still on it.  So what if the Santa pillows were blown across the yard.  So what.  When I go outside and the inside of my nose freezed immediately, I draw the line. There are times even Martha Stewart would not be neat.  So there!

Martha Stewart’s secret is that she does things ONCE- to demonstrate to the hired help exactly how she wants to pretend she does it herself. I firmly believe that she does none of those demonstrations on nose freezing days. So relax about the tree and the pillows. They’ll be there when things thaw.

Our water froze, and I spent a great deal of the day in the house waiting for the pipes to burst. I bundled myself up, and went out and did the Christmas decorations. After all, it had warmed up to a balmy 20 degrees. I felt very accomplished and things are looking good. I came in, the water unfroze and so did I. You know that feeling after you have been in the real cold for a while, and you come in and warm up? Yep, I was so sleepy I could not do a thing.
