Something to pacify some until the weekend

On the Flip that I found was a video I had taken of my classroom. Oh, but first….the lawn mower story.

Ann: I have a riding mower to bring in for repair. I also have push mower that was left outside all winter, gas cap off.

Mower repair guy: The push mower is worthless at this point, but if you bring it in we will give you credit for the parts we can use on other mowers.

So, we had the rider and the push taken in.  They call to say the rider is repaired. When I ask about credit for the parts on the push mower, he tells me they can give me twenty dollars. I say, no, just give me back the dead mower and I will put it up on Free Cycle and give it away.

Then call me in about a half hour to tell me they have fixed the push mower and the cost is $66.  I drive there.

Me: I never asked you to fix the push mower. You were only suppose to use the parts.

Owner lady: We need our labor and parts. We assumed you wanted it fixed. It was on the junk pile, and one of the guys tinkered with it.

Me: No, I never wanted it fixed. You were going to use the parts. You want me to pay more to have it repaired than it is worth. If I leave it with you, then you now have a mower and I have nothing.

Owner lady: Fine! We will take all the parts off that we put on and we will fill the engine with water. It came with water in the engine.

Me: (Smiling because I have just had a good time) Good. It will picked up on Tuesday, and please use clean water when you fill the engine. ‘

I could act it out better. When any of you come to visit, remind me to reenact the whole thing.

Here is where I spend my days…..
