Wasn’t that a movie? Spring has sprung. Just this afternoon the dogwoods started blooming, honest. I was out this morning and nothing. Not they are. We drove around this evening and took some pictures.
But first…. Our house is near being finished. The big stuff has been done for a while, but the little stuff was put off until income tax return time. We have met many people during the two years we have been working on Possum Manor. One guy is in jail now, but that is a whole different story. Most have been wonderful, but the best has been our carpenter, Michael. We now refer to him as our little brother. He is family, and Brando thinks he is the best thing, next to his Uncle Larry. Michael had done our deck and full covered front porch. He has done the fence and the shed. If anyone one needs a carpenter in the Asheville area, give us a call and we will put you in contact. Honestly.
Michael’s latest job was putting a closet door in the bedroom. You have to understand, it was an odd opening, and he had to cut away dry wall and make it look like an easy job. He did.
He also connected my rain barrel.
There is nothing he cannot do. He is also putting in some kind of exhaust fan for us upstairs. It really gets hot up there.
Back to spring….. We have daffodils coming up. We never planted them, but they cleverly came up anyway. One is inside the fence. Note the red clay it has decided to grow from?
There are quite a few inside the dog fence. The dogs think they are pretty, and have managed to avoid tramping on them….at least today.
On our drive tonight we found these white pieces of spring.
And more daffodils.
It is difficult to tell, but these threes are blooming at the top. The blooms or leaves are red.
One of my favorite things is the forsythia . We do not have any, but it started blooming all around town today.
I won’t mention that the high Friday is only suppose to be 45, and the lows are suppose to be in 30′s!!!

Looks like Spring has sprung by the pics….which are very pretty by the way.
Find any Pussywillows? Wonder if they grow that far south?
Hmmm. I know we had a pussy willow bush at out other house, but we put it there. I do not know if they are found here. I will look into that, because I think I want one. I always loved pussy willows and lilacs.
erm….i’m thinking it’s time for a “spring chicken” blog?
Actually there was going to be another wet chicken blog…but I have done that too often. Each time I spent any time with the chickens in the last two months it has been raining, and this weekend was no exception. There is a blog coming….maybe tomorrow evening. I have a new craft!!!
