Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all you who are mothers…mothers to humans, that is.  They do not have a pet mother’s day do they?  If they had thought of it, they would have cards for it, I am sure.

Neither Ann nor I have parents who are still alive, but we often talk about them. I knew Ann’s mom had accepted me as part of the family when she started sending diet information not just to Ann, but addressed to Ann and Kathie. hahah We laughed. Ann never met my mom, but spoke with her on the phone. One time  while I visiting family, my mom told Ann she could not speak to me, just because. She was kidding, but poor Ann did not know what to say.

Our mothers are always our mothers. No matter where they might be.

I happen to love this picture because it says it all.  Now on the back it says…get this…Christmas!!! Notice my mom is barefoot?  Always. She could walk on glass, I swear!  The next one is my mom and my step-father, Jack. What a wonderful man he was. I will put both Jack and my dad up on for Father’s Day.

This is Ann’s mom, Ms Eldred. She was the matriarch of the family and community, and he and Ann’s dad made Possum Manor West what it is today.  She would approve of the chickens, but not all the dogs.
