Squirrel, blooms, snake, and stray thoughts

First, I would like to let all of you who laughed your silly butts off know that my underwear is correct today, facing the correct direction!

The squirrel brought a friend to figure out the new feeder. They are furious at not getting to drain it of all seed.

The laurels are in bloom now, so I did a couple of videos. It was early and not very sunny. I should have waited, as the sun is now out.

Our front porch is all in bloom too. The damp weather has been perfect for the porch plants.

In the middle of the night Brando started barking. It was the “oh my there is a bear in the back yard” bark. I got up and saw him barking and dancing around something on the living room rug.  It was a small snake.  There was no way I was going down the stairs, nor was I going to allow Brando to bark all night. So, I began throwing clothing from the laundry basket down, hoping to cover the snake.  It took about six things before I hit the bull’s eye. Brando went to bed, and Ann took the LIVE snake outside when she got up for work. Darn cats will bring in anything. Maudie likes the place mats I am making.  I hope to put them up on Etsy as custom, along with my rugs.
I planted seeds, but I forgot what they are. I think some are catnip.  The others, I have no idea.
I love Hens and Chicks, though I call them Chicks and Hens. I planted some last week, and I even added stone for the full effect.  hahah
This is Brando’s favorite place to be…on the front porch in a chair.

Those Hens and Chicks are a great Poison Ivy cure! Mom used to get Poison Ivy all the time and her doc told her to plant some Hens and Chicks and whenever she got into Poison Ivy to break off a leaf, cut it open and rub the gel from the inside all over the affected area. She said it worked really really well!

Maybe you need to make the cats there own rug. Think they would use it? Glad the squirrels are mad. They can be pesty animals. I like the picture of the areas around the house. Reminds me of northern Michigan in the spring. Brando favorite spot maybe the front porch, but there he can protect the house and you.

ok, first of all you made me crack up by throwing laundry down on top of the snake and secondly I don’t know how you stayed in the house with it there….I would have been sleeping in the car LOL :)

I did not know the poison ivy thing. I will certainly remember that tip.

As far as staying in the house, I thought the snake could not climb the stairs. What do I know; I was a city girl. Now that I know it could easily climb the stairs, I would have to sleep in the car if one ever came in again.
