Finally, after weeks and weeks of sitting and abandoning and sitting and abandoning , one of the Gidgets has hatched an egg. It is not one of hers, but she does not care at all. It is her baby. The baby should end up to be a Silkie, as we think both Mama and Papa are Silkies. Adoptive mom is a Barred Rock, one of the black and white one we raised from a baby herself. I am going out to Possum Manor West on Saturday, and I will take lots of photos. No baby shower needed, thanks anyway. We have everything we need.
The other day I was working around the house, and I took notice of what our pets do all day long. We so often feel badly that they are alone many days and always wonder how they passed the time. Did they play cards? Read a book? Watch tv? We knew they did not clean. Following are photos of the four I could easily find. I think RD was out under a tree somewhere.
We do not allow the cats on the kitchen counters. Please note, Roxanne (age 15) is on the kitchen counter, in a basket that holds the hot pads and dish towels.
Pippin lives outside most of time, trying to rid the world of rabbits, birds, and moles. He is the sweetest cat ever, but a killer who likes to bring the trophies in to us.
Xena does not close her eyes when a camera is near; it might kill her or take her soul.
Brando has claimed every sofa in the house. This one is in the office.
Poor animals.
