I had planned a Father’s Day blog, but I did not organize my photos, so it will be belated. I too have a memorial tattoo, and I had the part for my stepfather added the other day. I will include that photo when it heals, along with Ann’s (which is looking fantastic).
The bear came back last night. We were just going to bed when the dogs went nuts. I was trying to quiet them down, but they kept running upstairs and barking out of the side window. Then they would run downstairs and back at the back door from a distance of at least fifteen feet, as they are loud but not brave. At one point I glanced in the direction of their barking, and there it was walking down the driveway, away from the house. Needless to say there was not a lot of sleep to be had at Possum Manor last night.
We traveled to Possum Manor West yesterday where the garden is really amazing. We brought back broccoli and peas. The flowers are in full bloom, and the chickens are spoiled. I have not told them they are moving out of the county yet; we will break it to them slowly.
Peas:
And lots of flowers I cannot name.
We have bees at Possum Manor West. We don’t raise them; we just have lots for them to eat!
Please do not expect a post every day, because it will not happen….nor will the insect dance Pam!!!!!

Y’all are going to have to do something with Mr Scary Bear before the chickens come. I don’t even want to imagine you out in yer flannel nightgown fighting off Mr Scary Bear with a broomstick. There must be a game commission or something who can deal with him.
as to the insect dance…i continue to hold out hope.
I will admit to looking forward to the tattoo blogs…i’m very interested to hear about all the memorials especially and the stories behind them.
Orange flowers are Shasta Daisy or Painted Ladies, tall blue stalk is Delphinium, bright pink looks like Hibiscus. Don’t ask me how I know these….just popped into my head. But they are beautiful and you are so lucky to have bees since many hives have been wiped out by parasites.
About the bear….I would hesitate to introduce chickens to the mountain since it will become the bear’s personal fast food joint. Can you get the bear relocated to a protected parkland?
Eager to admire the tattoos….can’t wait to see them.
We are calling the game authority tomorrow morning, and we hopeful they will move the bear to the national park near here. As for the chickens, the bear will be much more interested in the chicken feed than the chickens.
We hope.
I don’t think the pink one is a Hibicus. At least it does not look like the ones I have in my yard. Normally they are very large, plate size flowers. If you can include some of the greens, I think we can help tell you what flowers they are.
Remember the bear picture I sent you where he was sitting at the table. Well, hope this bear does not get that idea. You would really be in big trouble. Hope the gaming people can help him out of there.
The dogs barked all night again last night.I really do not know what we are going to do. We read last night that they do not relocate bears in NC because they find their way back home and often get killed trying. What we are hoping is that the bear realizes there is nothing for him here and takes us off his circuit.
Isn’t the hibiscus the one that lives only a day or so? If so, it is not one. I had one on the porch last year. Messy flower. I categorize flowers by color. This is a blue one…this is pink.
We are going to my brother’s cottage in Northern Michigan in July and have a woman who is coming to stay with the pets. I am wondering if we shouldn’t just take them to Carrie. I don’t think the woman will get a minute of sleep, and she will not be familiar enough with them to get them calmed down. Xena would not come into the house until she was in bed last summer when she stayed. Six dogs is just so much to put on Carrie…no we do not have six…but she has three and so do we. So many dilemmas.
I really like the pictures of the flowers, they are very pretty!!
