What did I do for the 4th of July?

I played kitchen witch.  I made six batches of canned goods. (Why do they call it canning?  It is really jarring.)

I made three batches of strawberry syrup, one batch of strawberry preserves, and a batch each of white grape and purple grape jelly.

I had never made white grape jelly, but I had the juice, and I thought it might be good. If nothing else, it is pretty.

Seems Xena is a bit under the weather, and she is not eating.  She has not eaten all day; refuses all food. Ann says to just give her some time. I have tried to tempt her with all sorts of things, but she is not interested. I guess if she does not want food tomorrow, I will really worry.  She is not hiding or refusing attention, just food.

When we were at Possum Manor West, Brando and Max got along better than usual. Max does things like lay in the doorway of the office so that Brando cannot go down the hallway to the bedroom. Brando could, but he is afraid to pass Max.  In the following photo Max wants Brando to get off the sofa. Notice that Brando does not want to make eye contact with Max.

Brando held his ground.

Here are the three from Possum Manor West, watching our three leave.

I think, deep down, they all like each other.

WOW, you had a productive 4th. Looks good. I have seen white grape jelly in the stores, but have not heard of anyone making it at home. You will have to let us know how it taste.
