Lemonade, curley fries, funnel cake…..yum…..I feel sick. lol
We went to the fair last night to eat and walk around. I realized that I should enter some of my canned good next year. Dorothy Smith, whoever she is, is taking blue ribbons in everything. Move over Dot! I am coming for you!
First, a non-fair photo. I just thought it interesting. I have entitled it, ” What we feed our cats.”
Ick. (By the way, that is the porch floor, not my kitchen.)
This next one is by far my favorite. We were in one of the poultry sections, and we came upon a stall with three or four chickens. This sign was on the wall:
Breaks your heart huh?
We saw horses and brahma bulls. Ever see a brahma? My gosh, they are huge!
They make me feel thin.
There was an area with llamas. These things were spoiled, and if I had one I am sure it would sleep in the bed. Move over Brando.
They were actually laying in front of fans.
There were sheep too. Ann gets credit for this photo, as she made me take it.
I thought this was beautiful.
Entering the fair
I want to eat this. There is something very comforting about it, but I want it dipped in chocolate
Don’t let anyone kid you, this is why we went to the fair!!!This
I took this one especially for Pam, to prove why I am buying cowboy boots with rubber souls. Got a quarter?
When we left the sun was beginning to set.
Good times were had by all. I got powdered sugar on me, head to toe, from the funnel cake. MMMMMMM
I went home and took a shower, just to get the fair grime off.
PS We did not go on rides, because like Butter Bean, Ann and I are chickens.

OK, if I had a llama, I would want it in bed with me. They look soooooo soft. Now, the Ice Cream, I want mine dipped in Chocolate too. Are the pony rides a penny? Nice pictures, too.
Did you actually see anyone interact with those llamas? They are foul tempered annoying creatures who will actually SPIT at you. I will admit the spotted one was really cute though.
I thought the horse was great, but i have to say i would recognize your need for rubber soled boots more had you been ON the horse. I know it’s very hard for you to let Ann hold the camera, but if you only KNEW how much we all want to SEE you on that horse….
The sunset picture is absolutely amazing. I’d frame that one and hang it…it’s literally a work of art.
You should quit your day job and become a photographer. What FAB pics! You totally caught the essence of that fair and your comments were a riot!
How come no pics of Dot’s creations with her blue ribbons? We need to know what you are shootin for.
Looks like you and Ann had a great time at the fair and Pam is right, where is the pic of you on the horse and the kid you wrestled off of it. LOL
beautiful pics as usual, you should be a professional photographer!
I think the pony rides were a quarter….inflation. I might want one of those on my front porch.
I never even thought to take a photo of that old biddie’s jams, preserves, pickles, chow chow, beets, and what ever. My strawberry syrup could beat anyone’s anything. What a wasted opportunity. I was also told today that there is money attached to those blue ribbons , so I am calling the IRS today, to make sure ole Dottie is declaring her bundle.
Gee, I would have taken a photo, but by the time I found the horse I was already covered, head to toe, with powdered sugar from the funnel cake. Some thing are apt to cause sleep interruptions, ya know.
ya know Kathie, the horse might look really nice next to your lawn jockey?!?
so i looked it up. You CAN have an electronic horse, or rocket, or noah’s ark, or whatever on your front porch, and it’s cheaper than maintaining a live horse for a year. They might even sell gently used models, you never know, but theyre a lot cheaper than i ever would have thought,,,and they’re relatively close to you…

Ann would kill me.
I say GO FOR IT!! lol
See, blaming it on Ann is just wrong on so any levels. We all know she doesn’t talk all that much here, but we also know she has a sense of humor, and we”re all just SURE she’d love a mechanical horse (OR Harley, did you see that one?) on her front porch.
You know, i was thinking last night. Sort of one of those “waxing nostalgic” evenings, and i actually remember you with your first “digital camera”. It used those floppy disks instead of a memory card, and i think a disk would hold maybe ten pictures….
Just one of those amusing memories…although i wonder if those days didn’t contribute to your photo abilities today…with film you can’t see what you’ve got..with digital NOW you can take a hundred bad shots to get that one good one. With digital then you kind of had to work a bit more…whatever it was, though…again your photos are amazing…
and again, blaming Ann is not fair…get the horse!
Oh I remember that camera. I thought it was the height of technology. It was a Sony Mavica, and I had two more, before I got my Nikon.
I know what Ann will say when I show her that web site, and I will. She will say, “Great, but we cannot spend money in that direction.” I will have her look and comment here tomorrow evening when she is here.
Looking forward to Ann’s input on the horse or the harley.
OK…..went to the website that sells those “rides.” I love them…alot!!! But, I don’t have $3,000 worth of love for any of them.
I will buy Kathie a new mop and a cowboy hat and she can ride back and forth on the front porch. Under $40 and everybody is happy!
By the way….this is Ann
Okay, but if i ever hit the lottery…i’m sending you one…
AND, while you may be happy with giving Kathie a new mop and hat…the only way the rest of us get to appreciate that is if she lets you hold the camera for a minute…
ok Ann, I’m hysterical here picturing Kathie with the mop and cowboy hat on the front porch. THANKS for the laugh. HAHAHAHAHA!!
p.s. by the way, you should post more often.
hahahahha She actually took some pictures of me this evening, in the rain, taking care of the chickens. They shall be my morning post.
Going mop shopping tomorrow.
Don’t forget those boots. She needs the hat, mop and boots. That would make a good picture. Maybe Anne should buy her own camera and use it when Kathie won’t give her’s up. LOL
My friends are a bunch of comediennes.
That’s why you love us. ;~)
