This is a learning experience; I can tell you that.  We have lots of pieces, but not much actually put together. I think we finally figured out how to do angles.  A trapezoid is sturdier than a rectangle, but a rectangle would have been so much easier.

One side….

Another side….

The side frame…

This is the screening that will go on the coop. Actually, it was already on part of the coop, but I took it off.

The work area.  Fancy huh?

The next photo is what Brando and Xena spent part of the afternoon barking at. It is just a fleece vest, but to them it was a dangerous intruder.

  1. okay…now i understand why you cannot assemble it…however, it appears to me the solution is amazingly simple.

if you want four sides to lean in a trapezoid then no sides can be rectangular…however, you really only NEED two sides to lean to get stability…so, lay a side (rectangular) on the ground…attach the two angled pieces to the ends…and carefully stand the whole thing up…then attach the other side…square up the bottoms…you can compensate for irregularities on top by adjusting the roof…just overhang it more on one side or another if you need to.your “ends” will be straight up and down…but the long sides will lean and stabilize the whole thing.

  2. If it were me putting it together, it would remain exactly like it is, until the wood rotted from rain, sleet, snow and ice. I have not a clue. I am lucky to be able to put a 6 piece puzzle together correctly.
Now looking at those pieces, it appears it is HUGE… A Large Condo for small silkies. Or is that where you will put your unwelcomed guests, u know, the ones that show up, un-announced, without an invitation. I think it would be befitting yes.
Now the dogs barking at the intruder had me in stitches…

  3. The chicken coop is coming along very nicely. Love the work area. :)

  4. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! :)
