Yea, I beat Pam (pardon the punt Pam).
Love love love the hot tub… Only thing I miss in CO. Well, except for my unrequited love.
The view is beautiful!
Hows baby buddha and how is Ann?
I dunno how you tolerated working in the cold all day, that is stupified they did that. Yes, give a teacher a mile, and they may turn the heat up to at least 64.
I get why they dont’ heat schools. They really also aren’t all that concerned about heating prisons, by the way. Statistically the crime rate increases in proportion to the temperature, especially in terms of violent crime.
So you’re already dealing with a population that has relatively undeveloped cerebral cortexes (that’s the part of the brain that helps inhibit inappropriate behavior- and i obviously don’t have one), so they appear to be an entirely different species than adults already. Why NOT make the little monsters struggle to stay warm so they have less time and energy to spend making teachers lives miserable?
and if that process makes the teacher’s lives more miserable in the process, well, it makes little difference overall to the administration. Be assured THEY have access to climate control, and cool little space heaters in their offices.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the office had heat. When it is 90 and the air conditioning is not working in the classrooms, they always have air too.
Problem with keeping the kids too hot or too cold is that they accuse you of doing it. One very angrily said yesterday, “Why do you make it so cold in here?” My reply was, “It keeps my skin from aging.”
It is suppose to be 67 today and 70 tomorrow. I am bringing in a sweater to keep in my classroom, just in case.
Little Sprout is fine. She (I am determined it is a girl.) spends a lot of time keeping warm under her mama. They asked me now how long the lumber is going to stay in a pile before it becomes a coop. I told them to just keep their feathers on.
Beautiful views from the deck and I’m so jealous your in the hot tub.
The kids do not complain to their parents about it being so cold? And the parents do not complain to the head Hen or Rooster? Gawd now I am chatting in chicken talk.
It made the news, as it was not just my school. It was all the schools. Yesterday was better, but it was 70 in the afternoon….outside. Today is to be a warm one too. We shall see what happens when it gets cold again.
Little Sprout is doing well. She has not grown much in these four days, but I expect she will be grow quickly. They are about three quarters their adult size by the time they are about four months old.
