We had our first snow today. It was not a whole lot, but it sure was pretty. You know I took a lot of pictures, as that is just what I do. What else did I do?
I made
- a batch of Russian Tea cookies
- three batches of grape jelly (yes Pam, there will be new shipment)
- one batch of muscadine jelly that has not set…..hmmmm
- a loaf of very hard, but tasty, multi-grain bread
- a batch of buckeyes (peanut butter balls partially dipped in chocolate)
- four load of laundry
- cleaned upstairs, bathroom included, and changed the sheets
Know what? I am pooped. I am fighting something that seems to be winning, so I will probably go to bed early. Tomorrow I plan on working on the chicken coop, in hopes of finishing some day.
I got a photo of Lil Sprout, who has grown into that awkward adolescent stage. She is getting big though.
Here are the snowy photos. KnoNutzs was covered, but her flowers did not wilt.
Finally got our porch rail decorated. I love the holidays.

I am waiting for our first snow fall. I love it when it sticks to the tress like the one picture you have. Days like that, you want to stay inside and watch it snow. Good snow pics.
How do you know the sex of Little Sprout? He or she is so cute.

It was 80 degrees today. That’s just fine with me, i really do not like snow. We are out of grape jelly, so i am really glad there is a new shipment coming.
I dare you to come and try to change MY sheets. That damn little dog just has fits when anyone gets near the bed. It’s like a two person operation…one to change the sheets and one to walk the little dog.
Sprout really is getting cute, but you know…Butter Bean is still my favorite.

Wow, did you do a lot today, lol. Wish I could accomplish all that in a day, hahahaha. I agree with Gena take a day off and just chill on the couch watching tv or a good movie, but I know that’s not you and you need to have some sort of project going, hahahaha. Which is a good thing I’m trying to be more like that and less lazy. LOL!
I absolutely LOVE the picture of the tree covered in snow with some leaves still on it. You truly do have an eye for pictures. Did you ever think of entering some of them in a photo contest or it’s just simply a hobby for you?
By the way can you ship buckeyes, or is it impossible and they would be mush by the time they got to NJ. They sound sooooo GOOD!!! I’ll even pay for shipping.

Norma, The snow we get here does not compare to the Michigan winters I remember. We have off school with just a half inch or so, since the mountain roads are so dangerous. I think we only had one snow day the whole time we were in school. I have emailed the photo of the head of Sprout to my neighbor, in hopes she can tell that it is NOT boy.
Gena, I will send you a jar of my famous grape jelly if you email me your address. I did get a lot done yesterday, but during the week I do nothing. These buckeyes are sooooo easy to make. Just peanut butter, butter, and powdered sugar mixed together. You make balls and then dip them in chocolate, which is just chocolate chips melted in the microwave. If you want the details, let me know. Dianna, that goes for you too.
Pam, I will try to get a picture of Butter Bean today. She is huge, so full and beautiful. She is the prettiest of the flock. ….hahaha flock, there are only five.
Today I am going to try my bread again, this time with a pan of water in the oven with it. I am hoping that will add some moisture.

We don’t get as much snow as we did when we were growing up. Some winters, there is not a lot. It will snow, melt and snow more in a week. Now, up north, they get a lot. Right now there is at least 6″ or more in some areas. Cadillac has 6″ as of today. Detroit has not had any snow yet, not even a flake. I think you might be getting all the snow we use to get.
You will have to let us know what your neighbor says about Little Sprout. Anymore little ones in the future?

It seems it is too early to tell if Sprout is a girl. I am still hoping she is. We should know in the next month or two.
