And lots of it. The almost two feet of snow melted and made the ground spongy. Now we have had a lot of rain, and the ground has had trouble absorbing it. We have become mud farmers once again. We have many layers of road bond on our driveway, but you would not know it. We will need many more.
The dogs bring it in.
The cars get stuck in it.
That is a picture of a rut in the driveway, though it looks like the back of an alligator.
The chickens were getting wet, so I went out and tacked a tarp. I heard the rooster crow this morning, which is no big deal except I had not heard him since we moved them.
This was a good weekend, in spite of the rain. Friday night I slept ten hours, which might go into the book of records. I ran errands, and I made a good dinner. Slept another long night. Today I feel like a million bucks. I went to the gym, made a batch of peanut butter balls, two loaves of low fat banana bread, 10 grain bread, and pizza dough. Ahhh, a good day. I think I might now play Mario on the Wii.

Its been raining so long and hard down here for so many days, the entire piedmont is one big mud hole. So I read up at Ann’s work, they are having to disinfect often due to the norwalk virus, is that the one? I remember several years ago, all the cruise ships were leaving florida, only to return 1/2 later due to the virus. I think the only one that was not infected was the Disney Wonder. That was the one I was on. The Disney Magic would go out, turn around and have to come back in, disinfect, start all over again, about the time they thought they had gotten rid of it, they would turn right back around with even more sick people and have to spend several more days in port cleaning. I think that year most of the cruise ships out of florida were infected except for the Wonder. Always made me wonder… .
I am glad to hear u slept in, I bet u needed it too!
Hows Ann?

you know, even with blue sidewalls that coop looks great.
we are not getting a lot of rain here, but you want to bet it’ll rain tuesday morning? i am going to pick up some baby palm trees for my yard…and i bet there is no way that’ll be a nice day.
glad you got sleep…after years and years of dealing with insomnia i know how to appreciate really sleeping for a change.
can chickens have peanut butter? It’s really fun to give it to the dogs and watch them make faces as they try to get it off the roofs of their mouths…

Chickens can have raw peanuts, so peanut butter is out. We do put it inside bones for the dogs though. Our dogs are horrible lickers, and that keeps them busy licking other things than the sofa and the leg of my jeans all night long. I have never seen such licking dogs. It is disgusting. We have to yell at them to stop, and then they leave a big ole wet spot where they were licking.
I got the chickens some more dried meal worms. They really like them. They like most things, but they are getting spoiled. I will scatter the treats around, and they look to see what else is coming before they even eat.

I am going to get propane this afternoon. I do not want to get caught with no heat if the power goes out again. This is really turning out to be some kind of winter!
