We did not get out foot of snow….yet…and it is only spitting some sleet right now. They say we can get one to three inches of icy mix, but we shall see.

Here is some humorous irony. Ann stayed in Cherokee last night so that she could actually get to work. She and a friend got a hotel room across from the casino. They would have stayed in the casino hotel, but it was all booked. Anyway, they went to dinner and then went to settle into their room. Guess what? Power went out. Even the casino lost power, and it was still without power this morning. The casino has generator back up, but it does not have it for its hotel. Their hotel never got the power back either, as of this morning anyway. I think that is funny. I spoke to them a few times last night and they were having the time of their lives.

Here at Possum Manor:
I am cooling some oatmeal for the chickens. I read they like a nice warm bowl of oatmeal on a cold day, and who am I to deny them?

The old coop is buried. Good thing the chickens are in the new and improved coop.

Want to come over for lunch?  We could eat out on the deck.

When I woke up this morning, one of the cats was throwing a toy in the air and chasing it. He was having such a good time, until I realized it was a dead bird, and I took it away. Ugh.

  1. OMG ROFLMAO about the Cat. Way way too funny… What a gift the cat brought you…
Its pretty messy here, sleet has been coming down for hours now. It appears it is going to be alot of the frozen dangerous stuff on top of this snow. Of course, the noise of it hitting the fireplace last night kept me awake off and on, yet I remained in bed with my imagination of what was taking place outside. Wow much to my amazement, its a ton of white stuff out there. Still falling…

Does the kitchen at the Hotel have a generator I hope.
Gonna be some hungry pissed off ppl if they can not get coffee and food. Wonder if the hotel guest realize they will be there for another day or 3. Yet since there is so much revenue from the Casino and Hotel, I suppose our NC finest will be out on the roads opening them up for the guest at Cherokee.
I almost stayed in that same hotel Ann stayed in last night… And decided my 10 minutes at the Casino was enough so I drove on back. Heck of a 5 hour trip for 10 minutes huh…

  2. We had 9-10 inches around 4am. It continued to sleet and is still sleeting so we probably have around 11 inches now. Needless to say we aren’t going anywhere today. :-)

  3. OMG, that is soooo much snow!!! It is pretty funny that the hotel lost power, poor Ann. At least she was making the best of it and having a good time. :)
