Congratulations!!!! Welcome to the world little Lucille!!!!
Well, congratulations Grammas! Well, no matter who bio mama is (and i guess it’s maybe apparent that butter bean isn’t) we know who hatching mama is, right? Lucille is so tiny and cute- all i can hope is that she doesn’t grow up to be Lucifer or something. (Kathie, two more eggs before your chickens outnumber my poodles.)
Congratulations! Hopefully this chick will remain a Lucille. If not, your project list for the summer will be to build another chicken coop for the newest addition.
Mazel Tov! A new addition is always a joy to the parents and grandparents. She’s so tiny and cute! Too bad Olivia isn’t there to see her.
CONGRATULATIONS Grandma’s, Lucille is adorable!!
Question – how times a year does a chicken sit on a egg? Since they like their new home, the number of chickens is growing. It might mean another or large coop.
I have no idea how often the hens decide to sit on an egg. I know one of them did in October and one now. I think we are going to build an extension this summer. It will keep me off the streets.
I did not see Lucille yesterday, but I heard her. I put food and water in the nesting box, since the mom has not left. Mom gobbled up the food and drank the water. I will make sure it is there until they are able to leave the nest. She is such a good mama.
I had planned to take the Beetle in for tires yesterday. Ann was going to meet me at the place and drive me home. On the way to school, on the highway, I had a blowout. I got the car to the side of the road and called someone to pick me up. The tire was in shreds, more like ribbons. So, the timing was good; it is at the tire place now. I will pick it up after school.
The making of a chicken condo. GREAT!!! You will have to take pictures during the various stages for us to see. Is there a way you to can add the old coop to the new one to make it larger? That way the old one is not wasted.
I think it will be an addition to what we have. Maybe a new house, and I could take the house they have now out, and put up perches. Running water? Electricity? Cable?
Glad you are ok from the tire blowout, they can be very scary.
