It was a long week, and actually it was the first full week of school since the second week of December. Can you imagine? I had a great, long sleep and feel great.
Thoughts and tidbits:
- I woke up with the thought, “I should make iced tea today.” How odd is that?
- It was sunny for an hour, and it made me so happy.
- We are getting rid of the hot tub. The guy who sold it to us came out and took the parts he wanted, now we need to put it on free cycle. The tub cannot be moved off the deck; it will have to be dismantled. We will sell the top.
- Baby Lucille is doing well. I took some fresh corn for the mama to eat, and Lucille came running out from under her to gobble it up herself. I do not know when they will leave the box and come down with the others. The others do sleep in the box with them at night.
Want some photos? Of course you do.
Crushed cracked corn, crushed chicken food, and infant cereal flakes.
A bit blurry, as it is very difficult to get a good photo in that nesting box.
She has white on her chest, and I hope it stays because it will be easier to figure out who she is when she is bigger.
I asked the others how they felt about the new baby. Their replies were:
Butter Bean: I am not sharing my worms.
Poodle Noodle: I am going to have to get a job to support this ever growing family.

i think the baby is incredibly cute.
and i think you could post pictures like this several times a day every day and i would not get bored looking at them.
butter bean is so grown up looking now…i remember when she was just little…
and it’s hard to tell Sprout from anyone else…
they change so fast…
Lucille is so cute. Wonder where the white came from on her chest. Does she let you get close to her so you can touch her to see how soft she is? Does Mom?
Beautiful pics of the chicks!
and
what happened to the hot tub?!?
Lil Sprout says, “Gosh it’s getting crowded in here! We need an addition.”
They do need an addition. It will give me a summer project. I keep trying to get new photos, but whenever I am out there with the camera, the baby is under the mom. When I go without the camera, she is running around.
Dianna, the hot tub has become a money hole. It always needs repair, and we just have not used it. Trouble is getting rid of it. It has to come off in pieces, and no one is answering the Free Cycle ad. This could be another summer project. We had it put on before the deck and fencing were finished. No possible way to lift the thing without a crane. Hoping someone wants the shell. We shall see.
