Happy Birthday Ann

Yes, it is Ann’s birthday today. She requested meatloaf for dinner so I have made a regular one and a turkey one. She is having cupcakes instead of cake, her request also. She will be surprised with an appetizer of a nice fresh shrimp cocktail. I am allergic to shell fish, so she is the only one who will eat the dish I risked my life making.

As you will see, the chickens are doing great. The egg occurrence is not what it should be. With the one just having hatched a baby, there are two who should be laying. I get one egg one day and two the next. That means one is only laying every other day. I have going to have to start squeezing those buggers.

On my way this morning, I saw this guy at a traffic light. It brought back such memories. About four years ago, when we were living in the rental house and building this one, I had a riding mower. It now lives at Possum Manor West. Anyway, I ran over these vines and messed up the mower, so it had to be repaired. They picked it up, and about a week later they called to say it was ready and that it would be twenty-five dollars to deliver it back to the house. No way! It was only a mile or so away, and most of the way was sidewalks…so I had an idea. So, Ann drove me to the repair place, and I drove the mower home, on a Friday afternoon during rush hour.  I had a blast!  Ann was a nervous wreck.  I waved. People honked. I smiled. Ahhh memories.
