The hot tub is gone!!!!

Oh, Happy Mothers’ Day to all you mothers.  Today, just after 8AM, the people showed up to take away the hot tub. It looked like this:

It is a mess, but we are happy to have it, considering it means the tub is gone.  It was too heavy,so they decided to take off the wood. We found that the wood was black ant infested…ugh. They they took off a lot of the foam insulation, which they found black ant infested also. Millions of them living in the foam.We used an ant killer that is safe for children and animals but not ants, and we worked to get the damn thing off the deck. They pulled out at 12:30.  Four and a half hours. FOUR AND A HALF HOURS! Until around eleven, it was only 44 degrees, so I got chilled inside and out.They were really good people though, so it was nice having them there. They loved all the animals, which is one of my tests of a good person.

Now Ann, Possum Manor’s own pyromaniac, is outside burning the wood that I cut up into small pieces for her. At least half of it anyway. The rest will get done tomorrow. She is off tomorrow and will bag up the foam. I will cut up the rest of the wood and she can burn again tomorrow evening. Life could not get better for her right now.
