Brando and Jack find the middle ground

It only took a week, but Brando and Jack finally could be in the same room without fighting for attention.  Donna left this morning, Ann is at work, and it is really oddly quiet at Possum Manor. I had plans to have my coffee out on the back deck, but it was chilly. How can it be so hot during the day and be so cool in the morning. I am certainly not complaining; the cool feels good.

My uphill neighbor, Maria, found the rooster a home. It is a good home on an organic farm. I will call the woman today and work out a time I can go and deliver him.  I think he will be happy there, at least I hope he will be. I am sure he will not get yogurt or freeze dried meal worms, but he will be well fed and have lots and lots of company.

Middle of the week:

Last night:

Between Jack being here and the fireworks going off each night, Brando has really had a difficult week.

The babies are getting bigger. They need to stay three more weeks, and then they will be big enough to off and find apartments of their own.

Lucille is almost as big as the smallest hen.

My favorite, Black Bean, still jumps in the house when I am scattering feed. She still remembers I use to put dried meal worms in the box when the mamas were sitting on the eggs.

Have a new cross stitch project, but this time I will show what it is suppose to look like at the beginning. I need to finish the A and make a D for Dianna first. Oh, the summer might not be long enough.

The pictures of Brando and Jack are so cute! I’m also glad your neighbor found the rooster a new home and I’m sure he will be happy there too. The babies have gotten really big haven’t they, wow. Looking forward to my blue D bookmark, thank you. :)

p.s. do you do rainbows too?

  2. Kathie says:

    Love rainbows!

  3. Dianna says:

me too, I collect them, so can a rainbow bookmark be made?

  4. Kathie says:

I am sure it can be made, but not yet by me. It would look like a leprechaun threw up if I did it.

  5. Dianna says:

LOL, understood, the visual was great. I really want to thank you though for making me a blue D. I’m excited about it.

    that WAS a great visual.

i tried to talk Patti into making a cross stitch thing for me- i found this great picture of Marilyn Monroe, you know? She told me to do it myself. Trouble is i cannot see the eye of the damn needles anymore to even get a needle threader in there.

  7. Kathie says:

The needles are thicker and the eyes are really big. I have trouble too.I am just very coordinated on the little things. Rugs are easy because they are large motor coordination.

Kathie – lucky you can do cross stitch. You did a nice job on the “K”. If I ever need any cross stich done, I think I will ask you to do it for me. That is one craft that I did not have the patience for.

I just back from the northern woods of Michigan and am playing catch up on what has been happening in your world. I spent a week up there, at the cottage, working on 2 quilts that I am making – memory quilts for each of my daughters showing the first year of their babies. One is called “Carson’s 1st year” and the other one is “Maddie’s 1st year”. It will be either their birthday present in Nov. or Christmas present. When I get these done, it will be time to start another one for the new baby girl that is coming in August.

I need to retire so I can keep up on all my craft projects. But I don’t see that happening in the near future.

From the pictures, can you tell what kind of chickens the babies are?
