Internet is back, chickens are clean, all is well with the world

It was an interesting experience to not have internet for two days. Our cell phones get internet, but it is much more awkward to deal with things that way.  Spoiled. I know.  But I did get a movie for you!!!

I am getting a white silkie on Thursday. Her name is Phyllis, and I will not mess with her head and rename her. Can’t wait to meet her. Photos to follow, obviously.

My daughter had 2 chinchillas and they loved to “bathe” in a shoe box with a 2″ layer of dust. Kept their fur soft by removing the oils and things caught in it. Was the funniest thing to watch them throwing themselves over on their backs and rubbing in the dust.

  2. Kathie says:

Those chinchillas are so cute. Are they good pets? Maybe I need to get some. Don’t tell Ann.

  3. pam says:

the chinchillas are adorable. Look up sugar gliders though if you really want cute. I am not sure any rodent makes a good pet, though. I remember years ago I had a six foot boa constrictor who did not scare me a bit- but the damn rodents i had to get him for his weekly meal scared the stuffing out of me.

as to Phyllis and her name, someone has to say it. She is a chicken. She has a brain the size of a chickpea. She doesn’t really have much head to mess with, you know?

I used to call my last foster dog weird names, and one day someone asked me why i did that. The bottom line was that he was deaf, didn’t matter a bit to him what i called him. I do not think it will matter to the chicken.

Casn you tell which one is Lucille? Can’t wait to see thr white one and she gets along with the others.

  5. Kathie says:

There are only two all black chickens, and Lucille still has a fluff on the top of her head. I should figure out a better way to tell them apart though,

    Hey Pam….look who is here!!!!!

    BK remember pam?

It will be ten whole years since you visited here. Gosh where has the time gone. I will email you at hotmail address tomorrow.

  8. Dianna says:

I loved the bathing video especially when you wanted to know if they were having an orgy or a bath, that cracked me up! Do you think they need any quarters, hahaha?!? :)

  9. pam says:

well, hey BK! I still have a set of wind up biting teeth on my desk to remind me of ya’ll. It sounds like i should be looking at your blog also- but Kathie hasn’t shared that with me (yet).

Dianna- i think we should be wondering if they are bathing or having seizures. Feel free to send ME quarters.

  10. Kathie says:

A hundred years ago I gave Dianna a copy of “Our Bodies, Ourselves” for Christmas with a quarter taped on the inside cover. She was to call me if she had any questions. Now she has two children. I have none. She might have a lot more information than I.

Pam, I will send you the blog link tonight. I had forgotten about those teeth. I don’t know where mine are.
