I have not been blogging, as I have been busy learning my trolley script. I did take a few photos I will share. Tomorrow is a trolley driver enrichment day, where we go on the tour, and do some in depth touring, I think. I am excited to do this, and I really look forward to tomorrow.
I made my first rag lamp shade. This picture does not do it justice though. It is a small one, and I am going to keep going to Good Will and Salvation Army to find shades I can strip down to the wire. I can order just the frames, but they are quite pricey.
About a year ago we visited Ann’s aunt and she made this amazing pot pie. What made it good was there were good things in it, and it was not all gravy. In fact, it came out in slices. So, I made it today. The crust is puffed pastry. I would make it again, but I would add peas next time, as it needed more color.
This last one I took through the curtain in the bedroom. I thought it was “artistic.” lol
On the chicken front, the tiny buff chicken born in October is now a rooster. lol Carrie is taking it anyway, and she wants a rooster, so it all works out. My girls were sitting on two of Jax’s eggs, and then they disappeared. I figured something got in there, or they ate them. Then the next day one of them was back. Then they let it go cold. So now they are sitting on two new ones. Something HAS hatch!!!!

Like that recipe since it doesn’t use cream of chicken soup or milk. But says to use pie crust mix not puff pastry?
Kathie – driving the trolley is right up your ally. I remember when I was there that you knew all about all the buildings and sites. You even remarked on how you could do that job. Glad you found your second calling.
I would love to heard what is in the pot pie.
Here is the link. It is really rather easy, but takes a while to put together. I did not put in the parsley, because I did not have it. I was thinking peas would be good next time, because it would give it color. I really like that it is not runny, but more of a slice of pie. Have no clue as to why that is purple.
Thanks. I will give it a try. I think peas would be better then the parlsey.
the pot pie looks amazing. I have to really cook at work, and i’d try it there except that i am hopeless at pie crusts. I might try it simply topped with biscuits (which i have learned how to make) though.
i am really hoping for a chicken to hatch. What i really want is another sort of buff colored chicken that can become butter bean II. Of course i would be quite happy with any baby, though.
and yeah, the picture is quite artistic.
i think you’re going to be a great tour driver/guide. You’ll fall into a sort of tour rhythm as you see what people respond to in awhile- and be able to change up a bit when or if they don’t respond. i know you really do have the skills to read reactions and simply teach- which is really all a guide does, yeah?
First off, I love the lamp shade. It is very pretty! Secondly, that pot pie which by the way is one of my favorite foods looks absolutely wonderful and that picture of the trees is extremely artsy. As for being a tour guide on the trolley, it is so you and you are going to have a BLAST!
They gave up on the eggs. Carrie is moving her chickens tomorrow, so maybe they will adjust and sit on eggs again. And I think Butter Bean would be a great name for a buff baby.
The puffed pastry comes frozen. You just thaw it and open it up. I do not make good pie crust either, but this was easy. And…it was so good the second day.
