can’t remember exactly…i know 1972, and i THINK 73…they had a brilliant engine mount design…you could pop off the back bumper…loosen like four bolts and roll the entire engine out on a floor jack..took like 30 minutes to change a clutch plate, and it was the easiest way to do a tune up…great interior design too…you could rearrange the seats into several configurations…
more than anything else i remember mine being really really FUN….so my hat’s off to Ann…here’s hoping she can find someone to airbrush on a great tie dye job.
(remind me someday to tell you the story of me and my VW van involved in the high speed police chase)
She is so excited she cannot sleep. It is now at the place that works of old VW’s where it is getting brakes and having the fuel line drained. It sat for so long it needs to be drained. At that point she should be able to register it and drive it home. The the work begins. We have a lot of photos of her getting it, it going on the flat bed, and all the stuff that went along with it. She is not going to put the stove or refrigerator back in, but will sell them. It came with four extra wheels, with tires. I think that among those eight tires there is not one with a hundred miles left. But it will get her home. Keep watching. Probably Sunday.
